Turkey will certainly make efforts in the coming days to save the grain deal, which was on the verge of collapse due to the suspension of Russia's participation in its implementation.

This opinion was expressed by a well-known Turkish international expert, Professor Mesut Hakki Jashin.

"Russia is right to protect its interests. I think the coming days will be critical for the fate of the grain deal and we should expect an active dialogue between the presidents of Turkey and Russia," he said on Saturday evening on the A-Haber TV channel.

In his opinion, the UN should be actively involved in the settlement of the problem. In addition, according to Jashin, the UN, as a participant in the "food deal", needs to make efforts to resolve the issue of exporting agricultural products and fertilizers from the Russian Federation, mainly to poor countries. "I think HE will make efforts in this direction," the Turkish expert said.

The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported on Saturday that due to the terrorist act committed on October 29 by the "Kiev regime with the participation of UK specialists" against ships of the Black Sea Fleet and civilian vessels involved in ensuring the security of the grain corridor, "the Russian side suspends participation in the implementation of agreements on the export of agricultural products from Ukrainian ports."

The press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov told TASS earlier that a conversation between the Russian and Turkish leaders on the situation around the grain deal is not yet planned.
