Turkey's new drilling vessel Abdülhamid Han will start work in the Eastern Mediterranean on August 9 this year, the country's Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Fatih Donmez said.

According to him, the ship is in the port of Mersin off the southern coast of Turkey, where it arrived on May 19 from the port of Okpo in South Korea.

After that, preparations for drilling operations began.

Exploration and drilling operations for the needs of Turkey have been carried out until today by three vessels: Fatih, Kanuni and Yavuz.

The length of the drilling vessel of the seventh generation Abdülhamid Han is 238 m, width 42 m.

A team of 200 people can carry out drilling operations at a depth of up to 12,200 m.

There are only 4-5 drilling vessels of this class in the world, and one of them is at the disposal of Turkey.
