High-quality oil has been found in wells in Adana, Turkey, where exploration work is being carried out. This was stated by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in a televised address following a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic.

"High-quality oil has been found in two wells in Adana, where exploration work is being carried out. The value of the reserves is estimated at about $ 1 billion," Erdogan said.

Deputy Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of the Alp Arslan Bayraktar said earlier that Turkey is going to increase gas consumption and expand fuel supply opportunities in 2022. According to him, the country is engaged in the development of oil and gas exploration programs for a long time and invests in infrastructure. For example, two major projects have already been launched in the country with Azerbaijan, Georgia, Greece, Albania and Italy.

Earlier, Turkey started laying a water pipeline to deliver gas from the Sakarya field in the Black Sea.
