Not so long ago, the Turkish government offered assistance, paying off social security and tax debts. Nowadays, the restructured debt of Turkish citizens exceeds 90 billion Lira. This is a suggestion to provide assistance to the population and alleviate losses after the pandemic, which affected a huge number of small and large businesses, as well as a big number of workers.

About 2 billion citizens have already applied for help and restructuring. As of February 4, 2021, the government has already restructured the debts of more than 7 million people. More than 105 billion Liras were spent on repayment, which covered tax liabilities. According to the government, debt restructuring should not only help ease the financial difficulties of the population, but also stimulate consumer spending.
